Overview

Plant Pathology is the study of diseases in plants. It is an agricultural discipline. Its applications can extend to everything from the cornfields of Iowa, to the tropical rain forests of Brazil. That’s a lot of territory to cover for one major, but somehow its teachers and students manage to do just that.

Plant pathologists study the physical makeup of plants and the diseases that affect them. If you don’t have a love for fungus, bacteria, viruses, and carnivorous plants, then expect to develop one, because as a plant pathology major you'll cover them extensively.
